The outbreak of Covid-19 has had a profound effect on our way of life and our way of working. Like many other construction companies, we have had to radically adjust how we go about our business both in the office and on our building projects in Kildare.
Making It Work Together
Since the restriction were brought into play in March, Alder Homes office staff, building crew and sub-contractors have strived to follow all advice provided by the HSE and CIF to ensure the safety of all and to help prevent the spread of the virus. Our on-site construction teams, as per government directive, stayed home until things got back up and running around the 18th of May. We were able to offer online training for them where possible including the ECDL course as well as the C-19 Officer Training.
Our office team have been able to continue almost as usual under a “work from home” scenario with a few of us venturing into the office in recent weeks when required. Both our office team and our on-site teams have been brilliant in working together to apply the administrative as well as practical aspects of the “new normal” way of working.
We’d like to say that the Construction Ireland Federation (CIF) leadership and provision of information and guidance during this time has been excellent. It has proved invaluable for us in training our staff to meet the new obligations and standards required for safety and minimise of the spread of the coronavirus.
